Our statement on Anti-Black Racism

(3 June 2020) The Windsor Law Centre for Cities condemns the Anti-Black Racism & violence experienced by so many in Canadian and American cities every day. As an urban law centre with a focus on working for inclusive and sustainable cities for all, we commit to redouble our efforts to support Black voices in municipal law & policy.

As one concrete step, our upcoming policy paper on Canadian municipalities, states of emergency and participatory governance during COVID-19 will include a section on impacts of municipal democratic deficits during the pandemic on Black communities in Canadiann cities specifically.

Please read the statement, Legal Academics against Anti-Black Racism, drafted by Windsor Law colleagues and signed by several faculty affiliates of the Windsor Law Centre for Cities.
