Climate Cafe #1

Climate Science 101

Can’t tell mitigation from adaptation? Following the news and hearing all about the climate crisis but feeling like you need a primer on the facts, the science and the terminology? Sarah Gulas is an environmental scientist and Windsor Law JD candidate. She’ll lead us through the basics and answer your questions.

A Climate Lens on Windsor’s 2020 Municipal Budget

On January 27, Windsor City Council will debate its proposed 2020 municipal budget. Frazier Fathers is the director of Continuous Improvement and Advocacy at the United Way/Centraide of Windsor-Essex and expert at crunching the numbers. He’ll give us an analysis of how the budget sizes up through the lens of pledges in Windsor’s Climate Emergency Declaration and Community Energy Plan.

The event will include Q and A’s, informal discussion over coffee and tea following the formal presentations, a chance to leave your own thoughts on how Windsor should be responding to the climate crisis, and more details on upcoming Cities & Climate Action Forum events!
