Centre for Cities RA Honoured With Leadership Scholarship

We congratulate Hana Syed, 2020 Summer Research Assistant to the Windsor Law Centre for Cities, for being chosen as the inaugural recipient of the University of Windsor Telus Chancellor’s Leadership Scholarship. This award was presented by the University of Windsor to a student who embodies a commitment to the four key pillars of innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability and diversity.

Hana’s research for the Windsor Law Centre for Cities policy paper, States of Emergency: Decision Making and Participatory Governance in Canadian Municipalities During Covid-19, was cited as exemplifying her strengths in these areas in its focus on the unequal impact the pandemic has had on BIPOC communities and the need for municipal policy and legislative reforms.
