Cities and Climate Action Report Release: Canadian Municipalities’ Community Energy Plan (CEP) Case Studies

(31 August 2020) This research report was completed by Windsor Law 2019-2020 Cities and Climate Action Forum students on request of the Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA)’s Climate Change specialist.

The report will supplement ERCA’s work to support the County of Essex, Ontario in its nascent community energy planning process. It profiles community energy planning undertaken by more than a dozen Canadian municipalities, highlighting progress to date, intersections with other climate action, and best practices for municipalities in aligning community energy planning with climate goals. It may be a helpful resource for any municipality undertaking such planning.
