Making the Shift: A Conversation with Leilani Farha about Housing, Advocacy and Human Dignity

November 18, 2020 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Event Registration

Housing is a human right. Why then are we facing a housing crisis, with ever-increasing numbers of people living on the streets or in inadequate, unaffordable housing?

PUSH, a 2019 film by award-winning director Fredrik Gertten, investigates why we are in the midst of a global housing crisis, who is behind it and what we might do about it.

Join Windsor Law’s Transnational Law and Justice Network and the Windsor Law Centre for Cities for a conversation with PUSH’s central figure, Leilani Farha.

Leilani is a lawyer, former UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Adequate Housing, and currently the Global Director of “The Shift”, an NGO committed to advocating for action to end homelessness, unaffordability, and evictions.

Excerpts from the film will be played during the conversation.  The full film may be viewed here and is recommended viewing prior to the event.  All are welcome to join.
